The DAYTON LAMINA 9-2032-21 is a medium-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, molds, and press tooling applications. Built from chromium-vanadium steel, it delivers reliable compression force and consistent return performance under cyclic load conditions. The spring features a 1-1/4 inch hole diameter, a 5/8 inch rod diameter, and an 8 inch free length. At maximum deflection, it produces a load of 432 pounds over 3 inches of travel, with a maximum operating deflection of 37.50 percent. The D-shaped wire cross-section increases load capacity relative to round-wire springs of the same envelope size. Licensed toolmakers and die maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for use in progressive stamping dies, injection mold tooling, and fixture clamping assemblies in both production and toolroom environments. The blue color coding identifies it as a medium-duty spring per ISO 10243, making it straightforward to select replacements during die maintenance. It fits applications requiring an 8 inch free length with standard rod and hole geometry commonly found in North American and internationally dimensioned tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-build component for standard die spring pockets requiring a 1-1/4 inch hole diameter, 5/8 inch rod diameter, and 8 inch free length in medium-duty stamping and mold tooling.
Die springs should be installed by qualified toolmakers or die maintenance personnel familiar with press tooling safety practices. Before servicing any die or mold, de-energize the press and use appropriate die blocks or safety props to prevent unintended ram movement. Inspect the spring pocket and guide rod for wear or damage before installation. Never compress a die spring beyond its rated maximum operating deflection, as exceeding this value accelerates fatigue failure.
