The DAYTON LAMINA 9-1612-26 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for use in metal stamping dies, molds, and tooling fixtures. Built from chromium-vanadium steel, it delivers consistent force and fatigue resistance across high-cycle press applications. The spring features a 1 inch hole diameter, a 1/2 inch rod diameter, and a 3 inch free length, with a maximum deflection load of 512 pounds and a maximum deflection of 0.9 inches. The D-shaped wire cross-section allows for tighter coil packing and more predictable load curves compared to round-wire alternatives. Toolmakers, die setters, and mold technicians are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for heavy-duty stripper, pressure pad, and lifter applications in progressive dies, compound dies, and injection molds. The red color coding identifies the heavy-duty load rating per ISO 10243 standards, making it straightforward to sort and replace springs by load class during die maintenance. Maximum operating deflection is rated at 30 percent of free length, and travel to solid load measures 1.02 inches. It is appropriate for both production tooling environments and prototype die builds where consistent spring force is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit die spring for heavy-duty tooling applications requiring a 1 inch hole diameter, 1/2 inch rod diameter, and 3 inch free length per ISO 10243 specifications.
Die springs of this type are installed by toolmakers or die maintenance technicians during die build or scheduled tooling maintenance. Always relieve all press pressure and lock out the press before accessing the die set. Springs should be seated squarely on their rod or in their pocket without lateral binding, and should never be compressed beyond the rated maximum operating deflection in normal service cycles. Inspect for cracking or set loss at regular maintenance intervals.
