The DAYTON LAMINA 9-0648-26 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for use in metal stamping dies, press tooling, and industrial mold assemblies. Built from chromium-vanadium steel, it delivers a maximum deflection load of 39 pounds over a maximum deflection of 3.6 inches from its 12-inch free length. The D-shaped wire profile provides consistent force output and resistance to rotation under load. Identified by its red color coding, this spring meets ISO 10243 international standards and is manufactured under an ISO 9001:2015 registered quality system. Installation is handled by toolmakers, die setters, and maintenance machinists working in press shop and mold environments.
This die spring is suited for heavy-duty applications in metal stamping dies, injection molds, and progressive die assemblies where consistent spring force and long cycle life are required. The 3/8-inch hole diameter accommodates a 3/16-inch rod diameter, keeping the spring centered and guided during compression. It is a fit for high-load, high-cycle tooling scenarios that demand close dimensional tolerances and compliance with NAAMS (North American Automotive Metric Standard) specifications.
Designed as a heavy-duty ISO 10243 and NAAMS-compliant die spring for use in metal stamping dies, injection molds, and industrial press tooling requiring a 3/8-inch bore and 3/16-inch guide rod.
Die springs should be installed by qualified toolmakers or die setters with the press or machine fully de-energized and all stored energy released before service. Ensure the guide rod diameter and spring bore are clean and free of burrs to prevent binding during compression. Do not compress the spring beyond the rated maximum operating deflection of 30 percent without consulting load-deflection data, as over-compression accelerates fatigue failure. Inspect springs regularly for cracking, set, or discoloration, which indicate replacement is needed.
