The DAYTON LAMINA 9-0648-11 is a light-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, punch tooling, and precision press applications. It features a 3/8 inch hole diameter, a 3/16 inch rod diameter, and a 12 inch free length. Constructed from chromium-vanadium steel, this spring delivers reliable elastic return force under cyclic load conditions. The D-shaped wire profile is designed to maximize contact area and resist rotation during compression. A green color coding identifies it as a light-duty spring, consistent with ISO 10243 color classification. Toolmakers, die setters, and maintenance machinists are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for light-duty stamping and forming tooling in industrial press environments. It is commonly used in die sets requiring controlled spring-back force with moderate deflection. With a maximum deflection of 4.8 inches and a maximum operating deflection of 40 percent of free length, it handles applications where stroke length is moderate and cycle frequency is high. The 12 inch free length allows for generous travel before reaching solid height, making it appropriate for deeper die stations or applications requiring extended working stroke.
Designed as a standard ISO 10243 light-duty die spring for use in stamping dies, forming dies, and precision press tooling requiring a 3/8 inch hole diameter and 3/16 inch rod diameter.
Die springs are installed by toolmakers or die maintenance technicians as part of press die assemblies. Always de-energize and lock out the press before servicing any die components. The spring should be seated squarely on the rod and within the pocket bore to prevent side-loading. Do not compress the spring beyond its maximum operating deflection rating, as exceeding 40 percent of free length under sustained load will reduce service life.
