The DAYTON LAMINA 9-0612-36 is an extra heavy-duty die spring designed for high-load tooling and stamping die applications. Built from chromium-vanadium steel, it delivers a maximum deflection load of 43 pounds and a maximum deflection of 0.75 inches. The spring features a D-shaped wire cross-section and a yellow color code that identifies it as an extra heavy-duty grade at a glance. With a 3/8-inch hole diameter, a 3/16-inch rod diameter, and a free length of 3 inches, it installs into standard die sets where consistent spring force and long service life are required. Tool and die makers and press operators are the primary users.
This die spring is suited for use in metal stamping dies, press tooling, and fixture applications that demand reliable, repeatable force under compression. The extra heavy-duty rating makes it appropriate for high-cycle production environments where standard or medium-duty springs would fatigue prematurely. It fits die sets configured for a 3/8-inch hole with a 3/16-inch guide rod and a 3-inch spring pocket depth.
Designed as an ISO 10243-compliant replacement die spring for standard die sets requiring a 3/8-inch hole diameter, 3/16-inch rod diameter, and 3-inch free length in an extra heavy-duty yellow-grade application.
Installation is performed by tool and die technicians during die builds or maintenance. Always de-energize and lock out the press before removing or replacing die springs. Inspect the guide rod and spring pocket for wear or damage before installing the new spring. Do not exceed the rated maximum operating deflection of 25 percent to avoid premature fatigue failure.
