The DAYTON LAMINA 10-48 is a steel spring cage designed to guide and retain die springs in stamping and tooling applications. Spring cages keep compression springs aligned under load, preventing lateral deflection and extending spring service life in high-cycle press tooling. This unit measures 6 inches overall length (OAL) with an outside diameter of 1-1/4 inches. It is constructed from steel for durability in demanding metal fabrication environments. Tool and die makers, press room technicians, and tooling maintenance personnel are the primary installers of this component.
This spring cage is used in punch press dies, stamping dies, and related tooling assemblies where guided spring travel is required. It is suited for both new tooling builds and tooling repair or rebuild work in production stamping environments. The 6-inch OAL accommodates applications requiring longer spring travel guidance. Verify the mating spring outside diameter and bore diameter of the die set before installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-build component for stamping dies and punch press tooling requiring a 1-1/4 inch OD spring cage at 6 inches OAL.
Installation is typically performed by tool and die makers or press room maintenance technicians. Always de-energize and lock out the press before servicing any die components. Confirm that the spring cage OD, bore clearance, and OAL are compatible with the existing die set geometry before assembly. Do not force-fit the cage into an undersized bore, as distortion can cause misalignment and premature wear.
