The DAKOTA PLUMBING PRODUCTS DSM-6040 is a 60/40 double-bowl undermount kitchen sink fabricated from 16-gauge 304 stainless steel with 18/10 chrome and nickel content. The larger left-side bowl handles heavy-duty washing tasks, while the smaller right-side bowl is sized for prep work. Micro-radius corners at approximately 15 millimeters keep cleanup straightforward and suit contemporary cabinetry styles. A channeled bottom with rear-positioned 3.5-inch center drains promotes fast drainage and reduces standing water. The Satin Brushed Nickel finish is one of several available color options within the Marela collection. Licensed plumbers and experienced installers handle this type of undermount sink installation in both residential and light commercial settings.
The DSM-6040 is designed for base cabinet installations requiring a cabinet width of 36 inches or wider. Overall sink dimensions are 32 inches in length, 18 inches in width, and 10 inches in depth, making it a practical fit for standard kitchen configurations. The sink ships with custom-fit bottom grids (DSMZ-BG6040) and a basket strainer (DSA-PBSSS) included in the package. The Peacekeeper sound absorption system uses thermal undercoating and extra-large sound-dampening pads to reduce operational noise and limit condensation on the underside of the countertop. This sink is also available in Silver, Copper, Gold, and Gunmetal Black finishes for projects requiring a different color match.
Designed as an undermount replacement or new-installation sink for base cabinets 36 inches or wider in residential and light commercial kitchen applications.
Undermount sink installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber. Power tools are required for countertop cutout work, and the countertop surface must be adequately supported before the sink is mounted. Shut off the water supply and drain all lines before disconnecting any existing plumbing. Follow local plumbing codes and the manufacturer installation instructions for adhesive, clip, and drain assembly requirements.
