It operates on R-32 refrigerant in compliance with the AIM Act of 2020 and is designed exclusively for A2L refrigerant appliances. This unit is not compatible with R-410A systems. Rated at a SEER2 of 21 and an EER2 of 12.5, the rkf09bvju9 delivers strong energy efficiency for residential and light-commercial installations. Wall-mounted placement suits standard outdoor pad or bracket installs. Licensed HVAC technicians familiar with A2L refrigerant handling procedures should perform all service work on this unit.
This outdoor unit is part of the Daikin Oterra series and pairs with a compatible single-zone indoor air handler for a complete ductless cooling system. It is suited for residential spaces requiring efficient, zoned cooling without ductwork. The unit runs on 208/230V single-phase power, making it compatible with standard residential electrical service. Maximum interconnecting pipe length is 66 feet, providing flexibility in locating the indoor and outdoor components. The liquid line connection is 1/4 inch and the suction line is 3/8 inch.
Designed for use as the outdoor condensing unit in a single-zone Daikin Oterra series ductless mini split cooling system. This unit requires a compatible A2L-rated indoor air handler and is not to be used in the installation or repair of R-410A appliances.
Installation must be performed by an EPA 608-certified HVAC technician with training on A2L refrigerant handling, as required for R-32 systems. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before making any wiring or refrigerant connections. Follow all local mechanical and electrical codes, including NEC requirements for disconnect placement and circuit sizing. Do not connect this unit to any existing R-410A system or use R-410A refrigerant in any service procedure.
