The CUSTOM-BLEND CBTSG50 is a non-modified Portland cement thin-set mortar packaged in a 50 lb bag. It delivers an economical, reliable bond for a wide range of tile and stone installations on both interior and exterior surfaces. The mortar meets and exceeds ANSI A118.1 and A118.4 specifications, making it a code-acceptable choice for residential and commercial tile work. Coverage runs approximately 85 to 95 square feet per 50 lb bag when applied with a 1/4 x 1/4 inch notched trowel. Licensed tile setters and flooring contractors are the primary installers.
This mortar is suited for floor and wall installations where a dependable, cost-effective bond is needed. It bonds vitreous, semi-vitreous, and absorptive tile types including ceramic mosaic, quarry tile, pavers, cement body tile, impervious porcelain, glass tile, brick and stone veneer, cement-based precast terrazzo, and natural stone. Compatible substrates include concrete, masonry, gypsum wallboard, cement backer boards, exterior-grade plywood, existing ceramic tile, asbestos-free vinyl flooring, and plastic laminates. Some applications may require an acrylic mortar admix. Not recommended for hardwood, luan plywood, parquet, particle board, cushion or sponge-back flooring, metal, fiberglass, or OSB panels.
Designed for bonding vitreous, semi-vitreous, and non-vitreous tile including ceramic mosaic, quarry, cement body tile, impervious porcelain, glass tile, brick and stone veneer, cement-based precast terrazzo, and natural stone tile to concrete, masonry, gypsum wallboard, wonderboard, cement backer boards, exterior-grade plywood, existing ceramic tile, asbestos-free vinyl flooring, and plastic laminates.
Installation should be performed by a licensed tile setter or flooring contractor following ANSI A108 installation standards. Allow a minimum cure time of 24 hours before grouting or allowing light foot traffic on the installed surface. Clean tools and equipment immediately with water before the mortar sets. Do not apply over surfaces listed as incompatible, including OSB, metal, fiberglass, or any asbestos-containing material.
