The CRATEX 88-2 C is a rubber-bonded surface grinding wheel designed for fine material removal on sensitive and precision workpieces. Measuring 1 inch in diameter and 1/4 inch thick with a 1/8 inch hole, this compact wheel is rated to 25000 RPM. The rubber bond construction cushions cutting action, reducing surface damage on delicate parts. The coarse grade provides aggressive stock removal while maintaining the flexibility inherent to rubber-bonded abrasives. It is installed and used by machinists, toolmakers, jewelers, and precision fabricators working in shops, labs, and light manufacturing environments.
This wheel is suited for precision grinding on small or intricate components where rigid vitrified wheels would cause damage or excessive heat. Typical applications include deburring and surface finishing on aerospace components, dies, molds, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices. The green color indicates the CRATEX rubber abrasive compound. At 1 inch in diameter, it is commonly used in rotary tools, pendant drills, and small bench grinders configured for precision work.
Designed for use with aerospace components, control mechanisms, dies, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, molds, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices. Fits mandrels accepting a 1/8 inch arbor hole.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers mounting the wheel onto a compatible mandrel fitted to a rotary tool or small bench grinder. Confirm the spindle speed does not exceed the 25000 RPM rating before operation. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and do not use a damaged wheel. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable ANSI B11 or OSHA abrasive wheel safety guidelines during mounting and operation.
