The CRATEX 86 M is a small-diameter surface grinding wheel designed for precision material removal on fine, delicate, and close-tolerance workpieces. Built with a silicon carbide abrasive and a rubber bond, this wheel delivers a controlled, resilient cut with reduced shock transfer to the workpiece. At 1 inch in diameter and 3/16 inch thick, with a 1/16 inch arbor hole, it is sized for use in rotary tools, die grinders, and precision bench equipment. The rubber bond cushions the abrasive action, making it well-suited for applications where surface finish and part integrity matter as much as stock removal. Rated to 25000 RPM. Medium grade provides balanced cut rate and surface finish for general precision work.
This wheel is used across industries that require fine surface grinding on small, intricate, or sensitive parts. Typical applications include aerospace components, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, dies, molds, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices. It is equally at home in a production shop or a precision repair environment where wheel size, bond flexibility, and abrasive type are selected to match the workpiece material and finish requirement. A licensed machinist, toolmaker, or precision grinding technician would typically install and operate this wheel.
Designed for use with aerospace components, control mechanisms, dies, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, molds, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices. Fits equipment with a 1/16 inch arbor. Confirm spindle speed rating meets or exceeds 25000 RPM before mounting.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Always verify that the spindle speed of the tool does not exceed the 25000 RPM maximum rated speed of the wheel before mounting. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and never operate a damaged wheel. Follow ANSI B7.1 safe practices for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels when mounting, guarding, and operating this product.
