The CRATEX 86 C is a small-diameter surface grinding wheel engineered for precision material removal on delicate and fine-tolerance workpieces. Built with a silicon carbide abrasive and a rubber bond matrix, this wheel measures 1 inch in diameter and 3/16 inch thick with a 1/16 inch arbor hole. The rubber bond provides a degree of flexibility and cushioning not found in vitrified wheels, making it well suited for finish grinding and deburring operations where surface integrity matters. Rated to 25,000 RPM, it is designed for use with high-speed rotary tools and die grinders. The coarse grade offers aggressive cutting action on hard, brittle materials including ceramics, carbide, and non-ferrous metals.
This grinding wheel is intended for precision grinding applications across a wide range of industries and part types. Typical use cases include finishing aerospace components, dies, molds, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices. Its compact 1 inch diameter makes it practical for accessing tight geometries and contoured surfaces where larger wheels cannot reach. The green color is standard for silicon carbide rubber-bonded wheels in this product family.
Designed for use with aerospace components, control mechanisms, dies, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, molds, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices where precision surface grinding is required.
Mounting and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Before mounting, verify that the spindle speed of the host tool does not exceed the 25,000 RPM rated maximum of this wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never operate a damaged wheel. Follow ANSI B7.1 safe use guidelines for abrasive wheels, including proper guard installation and appropriate personal protective equipment.
