The CRATEX 8 MANDREL is an abrasive point mandrel designed to mount small abrasive wheels for precision grinding, deburring, and surface finishing work. It features a 0.25 inch shank diameter for use in standard rotary tools, die grinders, and flexible shaft machines. The mandrel accepts wheels with a 0.125 inch hole and is rated for up to 25,000 RPM. At 0.02 pounds, it is a lightweight, single-piece accessory suited for bench work and field use by machinists, toolmakers, and metal fabricators who need consistent wheel retention at high spindle speeds.
This mandrel is intended for use with small abrasive wheels in applications such as internal grinding, slot deburring, weld cleanup, and cavity finishing on metal, rubber, and composite materials. It fits standard 0.25 inch collets and chucks found on most rotary tools and die grinders used in light manufacturing, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance environments. It is sold individually and is a direct replacement when a mandrel is worn, bent, or lost from a wheel kit.
Designed for use with small abrasive wheels having a 0.125 inch center hole, mounted in tools with a 0.25 inch collet or chuck.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool operator familiar with rotary abrasive accessories. Ensure the rotary tool or die grinder is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing the mandrel. Thread the abrasive wheel onto the mandrel screw securely before inserting the shank into the collet, and tighten the collet per the tool manufacturer specification. Do not exceed the 25,000 RPM rating stamped or listed for the mounted wheel assembly.
