The CRATEX 79 M is a small-diameter surface grinding wheel designed for precision deburring, finishing, and material removal on fine or delicate workpieces. It measures 0.875 inches in diameter and 0.25 inches thick, with a 0.0625-inch arbor hole. The abrasive matrix combines silicon carbide grit in a rubber bond at a medium grade, which provides controlled cut rates with a degree of compliance that hard vitrified wheels cannot match. Rated to 25,000 RPM, it is suited for use with high-speed rotary tools and precision grinding spindles. Licensed trade professionals and precision machinists are the primary installers and users of this wheel type.
This wheel is used across a wide range of precision and light-duty grinding applications. Per supplier data, documented applications include aerospace components, control mechanisms, dies, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, molds, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices. Its small form factor and rubber bond make it particularly effective where surface finish quality and workpiece protection are critical. It is sold in packages of 100 units, making it appropriate for shop-stock and production environments with ongoing grinding needs.
Designed for use with aerospace components, control mechanisms, dies, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, molds, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices, as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die professionals familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Always verify that the rotary tool or grinding spindle is rated at or above the wheel speed before mounting. Power down and lock out the tool before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for chips or cracks before each use and do not operate a damaged wheel.
