The CRATEX 76 M is a small-diameter surface grinding wheel designed for precision material removal on fine, detail-oriented workpieces. It measures 7/8 inch in diameter and 3/16 inch thick, with a 1/16 inch arbor hole. The wheel is constructed from silicon carbide abrasive bonded in a rubber matrix at a medium grade, allowing it to cut aggressively enough to remove material while maintaining enough compliance to avoid damaging delicate surfaces. It is rated to 25000 RPM. Machinists, tool and die makers, jewelers, and precision instrument technicians are the primary installers and users of this type of wheel.
This wheel is suited for precision grinding and deburring applications where surface finish and dimensional control matter more than stock removal rate. Typical applications include grinding on aerospace components, electronic parts, jewelry, instruments, dies, molds, light castings, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices. Its small diameter and rubber bond make it a strong choice for confined areas and workpieces that cannot tolerate the aggressive action of vitrified or resinoid wheels. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 100 units.
Designed for use with aerospace components, control mechanisms, dies, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, molds, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices where fine surface grinding is required.
This wheel is installed by machinists and precision tooling technicians on rotary tools, die grinders, or spindle machines. Before mounting, verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 25000 RPM rating marked on the wheel. Inspect the wheel for chips or cracks prior to mounting and never use a damaged wheel. Follow ANSI B7.1 safe use guidelines for abrasive wheels, including proper guard installation and secure arbor nut torque per the machine manufacturer specification.
