The CRATEX 54 C is a small-diameter surface grinding wheel designed for precision material removal on fine, detail-critical workpieces. Built with a silicon carbide abrasive and a rubber bond matrix, this wheel measures 5/8 inch in diameter, 1/8 inch thick, and accepts a 1/16 inch arbor hole. The rubber bond provides controlled flexibility and a smooth cutting action suited to delicate or intricate surfaces. Rated at 25,000 RPM, it is engineered for high-speed rotary tools and specialty grinding applications where a rigid vitrified wheel would risk damaging sensitive components or fine geometries.
This wheel is used across a range of precision and light-duty grinding tasks in both industrial and specialty trade environments. Typical applications include work on aerospace components, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, dies, molds, light castings, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices. Its small form factor and coarse grade make it well suited to material removal in tight spaces or on surfaces where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are both critical. The wheel is green in color and features no recess profile.
Designed for use with aerospace components, control mechanisms, dies, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, molds, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices requiring fine surface grinding with a small-diameter wheel.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive wheel safety practices. Always verify that the spindle speed of the host tool does not exceed the 25,000 RPM rating of the wheel before mounting. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage prior to use and ensure the arbor hole is properly seated with appropriate flanges. Follow ANSI B7.1 safety requirements for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels.
