The CRATEX 304 C is a 3-inch diameter surface grinding wheel built on a rubber bond matrix with a silicon carbide abrasive and a coarse grade cut. At 1/4 inch thick with a 1/4 inch arbor hole, it is a compact wheel suited for bench grinders, die grinders, and rotary tools used in metal finishing and fabrication work. The rubber bond cushions the abrasive during contact, which reduces surface chatter and helps produce a smoother finish compared to vitrified bond wheels. Rated to 7000 RPM, it is sized for handheld and benchtop power tools commonly used by machinists, pipefitters, electricians, and general metalwork technicians.
This wheel is designed for use on metal surfaces in both shop and field conditions. Typical applications include removing corrosion and rust, eliminating heat marks and tarnish, cleaning excess solder, deburring cut edges, and smoothing rough surfaces before polishing operations. It is well suited for work on ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a controlled, cushioned cut is needed. The green wheel color is characteristic of silicon carbide rubber bond construction commonly used in light-to-medium material removal tasks.
Suitable for corrosion removal, deburring, excess solder removal, heat mark treatment, polishing operations, rust removal, scratch removal, smoothing, and tarnish removal on metal surfaces. Designed for use with rotary tools and grinders accepting a 1/4 inch arbor at speeds up to 7000 RPM.
A licensed or qualified machinist or metalwork technician should mount this wheel according to the tool manufacturer's instructions. Always power down and disconnect the tool before mounting or removing any grinding wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and never exceed the 7000 RPM rated speed. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves whenever operating grinding equipment.
