The CRATEX 206 XF is a rubber-bonded silicon carbide surface grinding wheel rated for extra fine abrasive work. It measures 2 inches in diameter, 3/8 inches thick, with a 1/4 inch arbor hole, and carries a maximum speed rating of 10,500 RPM. The rubber bond delivers a flexible, self-dressing cut that is well suited to light material removal, surface conditioning, and finishing passes on metal, solder, and oxidized surfaces. The green wheel color is standard for this bond and grit combination. Machinists, toolmakers, and metal fabricators install this wheel on bench grinders, die grinders, and similar rotary equipment to achieve a consistent, scratch-free finish.
This wheel is designed for use in bench-top and handheld grinding applications where controlled stock removal and surface quality matter more than aggressive cut rate. Typical operations include deburring, polishing, smoothing, removing rust, eliminating heat marks and tarnish, cleaning up excess solder, and removing light corrosion. The extra fine grade makes it a finishing wheel rather than a roughing wheel. It is commonly used in metalworking shops, electrical and plumbing trades for solder cleanup, and light fabrication environments where surface integrity must be preserved.
Designed for use in corrosion removal, deburring, excess solder removal, heat mark treatment, polishing, rust removal, scratch removal, smoothing, and tarnish removal operations on rotary grinding equipment with a 1/4 inch arbor and a spindle speed rating at or below 10,500 RPM.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive wheel safety per ANSI B7.1 guidelines. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or changing wheels. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test if applicable. Do not exceed the rated maximum speed of 10,500 RPM under any operating condition.
