The CRATEX 204 C is a small-diameter surface grinding wheel engineered for precision deburring, polishing, and surface finishing work. Built with a silicon carbide abrasive and a rubber bond matrix, this wheel delivers controlled, consistent material removal with a degree of flexibility not found in vitrified or resinoid wheels. It measures 2 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick, with a 1/4 inch arbor hole, making it well-suited for use on rotary tools, die grinders, and bench grinder spindles sized to match. The coarse grade cuts aggressively through oxidation, heat marks, and surface contaminants. Rated to 10,500 RPM, it handles standard tool speeds safely when mounted correctly.
This wheel is intended for hand-tool and bench-tool applications across metalworking, electronics assembly, plumbing, and light fabrication trades. Typical use cases include removing excess solder from copper joints, cleaning rust and tarnish from ferrous and non-ferrous surfaces, smoothing weld spatter, and deburring cut edges on pipe, sheet metal, and fittings. The green color indicates silicon carbide composition, which performs well on non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and harder alloys. It is sized for tight-access work where larger wheels cannot reach.
Designed for use with rotary tools, die grinders, and bench grinders fitted with a 1/4 inch arbor. Suitable for corrosion removal, deburring, excess solder removal, heat mark cleanup, polishing operations, rust removal, scratch removal, smoothing, and tarnish removal on metal workpieces.
Mounting and operation of abrasive grinding wheels should follow ANSI B7.1 safety standards and the tool manufacturer's guidelines. Always power down and disconnect the tool before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the tool's rated RPM meets or exceeds the wheel's 10,500 RPM maximum before use - never operate a grinding wheel above its rated speed. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and do not use a damaged wheel.
