The CRATEX 2 XF is a small-diameter surface grinding wheel designed for precision cleaning, deburring, and polishing work on metal and other hard surfaces. It measures 5/8 inch in diameter and 3/32 inch thick, with a 1/16 inch mounting hole, making it suited for use in rotary tools, die grinders, and similar handheld power equipment. The wheel is constructed from silicon carbide abrasive in an extra fine grade and bonded with a rubber matrix that provides a controlled, smooth cut with minimal material removal. It is rated to a maximum speed of 25000 RPM. This wheel is sold in packages of 100 units, making it practical for shops with ongoing light grinding and surface prep needs.
This wheel is used in applications that require fine surface finishing rather than aggressive stock removal. Typical use cases include cleaning weld spatter, light deburring, surface prep before coating, and fine polishing of small workpieces or tight areas inaccessible to larger wheels. The compact size and extra fine grit make it appropriate for precision metalworking, tool and die work, and electronics or instrument maintenance environments. Licensed tradespeople and skilled technicians performing close-tolerance surface work are the primary installers and users of this type of abrasive.
Designed for use with rotary tools, die grinders, and similar handheld power equipment accepting a 1/16 inch mandrel, rated for operation at or below 25000 RPM. Suitable for cleaning and polishing applications as indicated by the manufacturer.
This abrasive wheel should be mounted only on a tool with a verified RPM rating that does not exceed the 25000 RPM maximum marked on the wheel. Inspect each wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and discard any damaged wheels. Always wear appropriate eye and face protection when operating grinding wheels. Follow ANSI B7.1 safety requirements for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels.
