The CRATEX 1358 XF is an unmounted rubberized abrasive cone point designed for precision deburring, blending, and surface finishing on metal, ceramic, and composite workpieces. Built with silicon carbide abrasive bonded into a flexible rubber matrix, this cone point conforms slightly to contoured surfaces, allowing consistent material removal without aggressive gouging. It measures 1 inch maximum diameter and 1-3/4 inches in length, and mounts via a 1/4-inch arbor hole to rotary tools, die grinders, and flexible shaft machines. At a very fine grade (60 grit), it is suited for final finishing passes and light deburring where surface quality matters. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and fabricators are the primary users.
This cone point fits applications where internal radii, ports, bores, and tight contours require controlled finishing. It is appropriate for bench or handheld rotary tool use in job shop, maintenance, and production environments. The unmounted configuration means the operator supplies the mandrel or arbor shank separately. Its cone geometry makes it well suited for chamfering edges, cleaning weld toes, and blending transitions in areas that flat or cylindrical points cannot reach efficiently.
Designed as an unmounted abrasive cone point for use with standard 1/4-inch arbor mandrels on die grinders, rotary tools, and flexible shaft machines commonly used in metalworking and fabrication applications.
Installation is performed by threading the cone point onto a compatible 1/4-inch arbor mandrel before securing in the rotary tool collet. Always power down and disconnect the tool before mounting or changing abrasive points. Inspect the rubber bond for cracks or delamination before each use and do not exceed the maximum RPM rating marked on the mandrel or tool. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required per ANSI B7.1 guidelines when operating mounted abrasives.
