The CRATEX 1358 F is a rubberized abrasive cone point designed for precision deburring, blending, and surface finishing on metal and other hard materials. It measures 1 inch in maximum diameter and 1-3/4 inches in length, with a 1/4 inch arbor hole for use with standard rotary tools, die grinders, and flexible shaft machines. The abrasive material is silicon carbide in a fine grade, rated at 60 grit, with a maximum operating speed of 20,000 RPM. This is an unmounted point, meaning it ships without a mandrel and requires a compatible 1/4 inch shank holder. Machinists, toolmakers, and metal finishing technicians use this type of point for controlled stock removal in hard-to-reach areas.
This cone point is suited for deburring bores, ports, and cavities, as well as blending welds and removing casting flash on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, ceramics, and hard plastics. Its cone geometry allows access to angled surfaces, countersinks, and chamfered edges where flat or cylinder profiles cannot reach. Fine grade silicon carbide makes it appropriate for finishing passes rather than aggressive stock removal. It is commonly used in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and tool and die applications where consistent surface finish is required.
Designed for use with any rotary tool, die grinder, or flexible shaft machine fitted with a 1/4 inch arbor mandrel. No specific model compatibility data was provided in the product input.
Install the cone point onto a 1/4 inch arbor mandrel before mounting in the rotary tool or die grinder. Ensure the mandrel nut is fully tightened and the point is seated securely before operation. Never exceed the rated 20,000 RPM maximum speed. Inspect the abrasive point before each use and discard if cracked, chipped, or shows uneven wear. Eye protection and appropriate guarding are required per standard shop safety practices.
