The CRATEX 1357 F is an unmounted rubberized abrasive cone point used for precision deburring, blending, and surface finishing on metal, ceramic, and composite materials. Constructed with silicon carbide abrasive bonded in a rubber matrix, this cone point delivers consistent, controlled material removal with reduced loading and chatter compared to conventional mounted points. The fine grade (120 grit) formulation is suited for finishing passes where a smooth surface condition is required. Rated to 20,000 RPM, it is sized at 7/8 inches maximum diameter by 1-1/4 inches long with a 1/4 inch arbor hole for use with a mandrel of the appropriate shank size.
This cone point is used in toolroom, maintenance, and production grinding applications where access to contoured surfaces, ports, bores, or weld seams is required. The rubberized bond allows the point to conform slightly to irregular surfaces, making it well suited for finish work on valve bodies, pipe fittings, manifolds, and similar components commonly encountered in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical service work. It is installed unmounted and requires a separate mandrel matched to the 1/4 inch arbor hole before use in a die grinder or rotary tool.
Designed for use with any mandrel or holder accepting a 1/4 inch arbor hole. Compatible with standard die grinders and rotary tools capable of operating at or below 20,000 RPM.
This abrasive point must be mounted on a compatible mandrel rated for the arbor hole size before use - never operate an unmounted point without a properly secured mandrel. Verify that the die grinder or rotary tool does not exceed the 20,000 RPM rating of this point before running. Wear appropriate eye protection and ensure the workpiece is secure before beginning grinding or finishing operations. Inspect the point for cracks or deformation before each use and discard if any damage is observed.
