The CRATEX 1349 M is an unmounted rubberized abrasive point with a taper profile, designed for precision deburring, blending, and surface finishing on metal and hard materials. It measures 1 inch maximum diameter by 1.25 inches overall length and uses silicon carbide as the abrasive media bonded in a rubber matrix. At medium grade (approximately 60 grit), it removes material efficiently while leaving a smooth, consistent finish. Rated to 20,000 RPM, the 1349 M fits rotary tools, die grinders, and flexible-shaft machines via a 0.25 inch arbor hole. Machinists, toolmakers, and metal fabricators use these points for detail work in confined areas.
Rubberized abrasive points are used across toolroom, die-making, mold finishing, and light deburring applications in both production and job-shop environments. The taper shape allows access to angled surfaces, chamfers, slots, and recesses that flat or cylindrical wheels cannot reach. The silicon carbide abrasive makes this point well-suited for cast iron, non-ferrous metals, carbide, ceramics, and composite materials. It is sold unmounted, meaning no mandrel or arbor is included, and it accepts a standard 0.25 inch shank arbor.
Designed for use with die grinders, rotary tools, and flexible-shaft machines fitted with a standard 0.25 inch arbor or mandrel. Suitable for grinding and finishing cast iron, non-ferrous metals, carbide, ceramics, and composites.
Mounting requires a separate 0.25 inch arbor or mandrel; secure the point firmly before operation and verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed 20,000 RPM. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow ANSI B7.1 guidelines for abrasive product mounting and use. Inspect the point for cracks or damage before each use and discard if deterioration is observed. Do not apply excessive lateral pressure against the workpiece; let the abrasive do the work.
