The CRATEX 1340 F is a rubberized abrasive point in a taper shape, designed for fine-grade deburring, blending, and surface finishing on metal and other hard materials. The abrasive medium is silicon carbide, bonded in a flexible rubber matrix that conforms slightly to contoured surfaces and reduces chatter. With a maximum diameter of 0.625 inches and an overall length of 1 inch, this is a compact point suited for detail work in tight areas. It mounts on a 0.25 inch arbor hole and is supplied unmounted, requiring a separate mandrel for use in a rotary tool, die grinder, or drill press. Maximum operating speed is 20,000 RPM.
This abrasive point is used in metalworking, tool-and-die, maintenance, and fabrication applications where controlled, fine-grade material removal is needed. The taper profile makes it well suited for inside radii, chamfers, weld cleanup, and port work. It is appropriate for both shop and field use by machinists, pipefitters, welders, and maintenance technicians working on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, ceramics, and composite materials where a silicon carbide abrasive is indicated.
Designed for use with standard 0.25 inch arbor mandrels in die grinders, rotary tools, and drill presses rated to a minimum of 20,000 RPM. No specific OEM system compatibility is stated for this product.
Mount the point onto a compatible 0.25 inch mandrel and verify the mandrel and tool are rated at or above the 20,000 RPM maximum before operation. Always inspect the abrasive point for cracks or deterioration before use and discard any damaged points. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required when operating rotary abrasives. Follow the tool manufacturer and applicable ANSI B7 abrasive safety standards for mounting and guarding.
