The CRANE 53090050k is a Y-pattern swing check valve engineered for reliable, one-directional flow control in plumbing and mechanical piping systems. The Y-pattern body design reduces pressure drop across the valve compared to standard globe-style check configurations, making it well-suited for systems where flow efficiency matters. Built with a bronze body and bronze trim, this valve is rated for pressures up to 200 psi and temperatures from -20 degrees F to 150 degrees F. The 2-inch solder joint end connection is compatible with standard copper tube installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this valve type in commercial and residential hydronic or domestic water systems.
This valve is designed for 2-inch copper piping systems using solder joint connections. It fits into horizontal or vertical piping runs where preventing backflow is required. The 125 lb pressure class and 200 psi working pressure rating make it appropriate for low-to-medium pressure domestic water, heating, and cooling piping applications. The Y-pattern configuration allows the swing disc to open with minimal resistance to forward flow, reducing turbulence and pressure loss in the line. The valve measures 6.85 inches from inlet to outlet and 4.19 inches from top to inlet center, which should be accounted for during rough-in and installation planning.
Designed as part of the CRANE Stockham B-309Y series for use with 2-inch copper piping systems with solder joint connections in ASME 125 lb pressure class applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into the line or soldering connections. Use appropriate flux and lead-free solder where required by local code for potable water systems. Confirm correct flow direction by observing the directional arrow marked on the valve body before finalizing the installation.
