The CPC COLDER PRODUCTS HFCD17835 is a 3/8 inch nominal flow, inline hose barb-to-female socket coupling designed for fluid line connections in industrial, HVAC, and process cooling applications. Constructed from polysulfone (PSU) with an EPDM O-ring, this shutoff-style coupling handles a maximum working pressure of 125 psi and a temperature range of -40 to 280 degrees F. The female socket end accepts a matching male insert, while the hose barb end connects directly to 1/2 inch inside diameter flexible tubing. Weighing 0.15 pounds, it is compact and suited for installations where inline fluid shutoff and quick disconnect capability are required.
This coupling is used in residential and commercial applications where controlled fluid routing is needed, including process cooling loops, chilled water lines, HVAC equipment connections, and laboratory or industrial fluid systems. The inline hose barb configuration allows direct integration into flexible tubing runs without additional fittings. The polysulfone body provides resistance to a wide range of fluids, making it appropriate for use in demanding thermal and chemical environments. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals are the typical installers.
Designed as an OEM-style inline hose barb female socket coupling compatible with 1/2 inch ID flexible tubing and standard CPC-compatible female socket insert systems used in fluid handling and process cooling applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber or HVAC technician familiar with fluid line assembly and shutoff fitting practices. Depressurize and drain the fluid system before removing or installing any coupling to prevent fluid release or injury. Ensure the hose barb is fully seated into the tubing and secured with an appropriate clamp rated for the system pressure. Verify O-ring seating and inspect for leaks after restoring system pressure.
