The COXREELS SD-50-1 is a spring-driven static discharge cable reel built for use in combustible environments where uncontrolled static buildup poses an ignition risk. The reel stores and deploys a 50-foot, 7-strand by 7-wire stainless steel cable with a high-visibility orange vinyl cover, allowing technicians to ground fuel-handling equipment quickly and reliably before transfer operations begin. The steel drum and disc assembly is CNC robotically spun with ribbed, rolled-edge construction for structural strength and operator safety. A permanently lubricated cartridge-style spring motor retracts the cable automatically and can be removed without disassembling the reel for streamlined field maintenance.
This reel is designed for fuel delivery, petroleum transfer, and chemical handling applications where static grounding is required by safety protocol or code. It is commonly mounted alongside fuel hose reels at service stations, fleet fueling facilities, industrial dispensing stations, and mobile fuel trucks. The adjustable multi-position guide arm accommodates wall, floor, ceiling, and vehicle mounting configurations, making it adaptable across fixed and mobile installations. A 50-amp grounding clamp is included for direct connection to the vessel or vehicle being grounded.
Designed as an OEM-style static discharge grounding reel for use in combustible and fuel-handling environments; commonly paired with fuel hose reels in petroleum transfer and industrial dispensing installations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with static grounding requirements and applicable fire and safety codes. Ensure all power and fuel flow to the work area is shut off before mounting or servicing the reel. The guide arm mounting hardware should be secured to a surface rated for the reel weight. Verify the grounding clamp connection provides a low-resistance path to earth ground before placing the reel in service.
