The COOPER CROUSE-HINDS 664 is a compression-style coupling designed for joining electrical metallic tubing (EMT) conduit runs. Constructed from steel with a non-insulated design, it uses a compression connection method that creates a concrete-tight fit without requiring tools beyond standard hand tightening and a wrench. The 1-1/2 inch trade size accommodates standard EMT of that diameter. Electricians use this fitting in both exposed and concrete-encased raceway installations where a reliable, secure mechanical connection is required by code.
This coupling is suited for commercial and residential electrical installations where EMT conduit is run through or along concrete structures, walls, or conduit bodies. The compression design provides a concrete-tight rating, making it appropriate for use in areas where moisture ingress or embedment in concrete is a concern. It is typically installed by licensed electricians during rough-in or retrofit conduit work where NEC-compliant raceway continuity is required.
Designed as an OEM-style compression coupling for use with 1-1/2 inch trade size EMT conduit in standard electrical raceway installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits in the affected raceway before beginning work. Ensure conduit ends are clean and free of burrs before seating the coupling to achieve a proper compression seal. Do not overtighten compression nuts, as this can deform the conduit or fitting body.
