The COOPER BUSSMANN MDL-1-1/2-R is a glass-body cartridge fuse rated at 1.5 amps with time-delay characteristics. Measuring 1.25 inches in overall length and 0.25 inches in diameter, this fuse provides overcurrent protection in low-current circuits where brief inrush loads must be tolerated before the fuse opens. The time-delay design prevents nuisance blowing during motor startup or capacitive inrush events while still protecting against sustained fault currents. It carries a 250-volt interrupting rating of 100 amps and a 125-volt interrupting rating of 10,000 amps. Electricians and electronics service technicians install this fuse in control panels, instrumentation circuits, and small appliance applications.
This fuse is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a 1/4-inch diameter cartridge format is required. Typical installations include HVAC control boards, low-voltage instrumentation panels, and industrial control circuits that require a compact, glass-body fuse with time-delay behavior. Its CE, CSA, UL, and MIL-STD ratings make it appropriate for a wide range of service environments, including those governed by military or commercial standards.
Designed as a direct-replacement cartridge fuse for standard 1/4-inch by 1-1/4-inch fuse holders used in HVAC control circuits, industrial control panels, and instrumentation equipment requiring a 1.5-amp time-delay fuse.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or HVAC technician in accordance with NEC guidelines and applicable local codes. Always de-energize and lock out the circuit before replacing a fuse. Confirm the replacement fuse amperage and voltage rating match the original equipment specification before inserting into the holder. Do not substitute a standard fast-acting fuse where a time-delay type is specified, as this can result in nuisance opens or inadequate protection.
