The COOPER BUSSMANN MAX-70 is a fast-acting maxi blade automotive fuse rated at 70 amps and 32 volts DC. It is designed to protect automotive and light commercial electrical circuits from overcurrent events by interrupting the circuit rapidly when current exceeds the rated threshold. The zinc fusible element is housed in a standard maxi blade body measuring 1.35 inches in length. Licensed electricians, automotive technicians, and fleet service professionals install this fuse in high-current vehicle wiring systems where reliable overcurrent protection is required.
The MAX-70 is used in automotive, marine, and light commercial vehicle applications where maxi blade fuse holders are standard. Common install scenarios include high-draw circuits such as winches, inverters, audio amplifiers, and battery distribution blocks. The fuse fits standard maxi blade fuse holders and fuse blocks found in passenger vehicles, trucks, and specialty equipment. Its tan color coding allows for quick visual identification of the 70-amp rating during inspection and maintenance.
The MAX-70 is a direct form-fit replacement for Littlefuse MAX70 and Ferraz Shawmut AF3-70. It is designed for use in any standard maxi blade fuse holder rated for 32 volts DC automotive service.
Installation should be performed by a qualified automotive or marine electrician. Disconnect the battery or de-energize the circuit before removing or installing any fuse. Verify the replacement fuse amperage matches the circuit protection requirement before installation. Never substitute a higher-amperage fuse to bypass a blown fuse condition without first diagnosing and correcting the underlying fault.
