The COOPER BUSSMANN KTK-R-20 is a Class CC cartridge fast-acting fuse rated at 20 amps and 600 volts AC. It is designed for general-purpose overcurrent protection in control circuits, motor branch circuits, and industrial equipment where fast response to fault current is required. The Class CC form factor incorporates a rejection feature that prevents substitution with lower-rated or non-CC fuses, maintaining system protection integrity. This fuse carries a 200 kA interrupting rating at AC RMS, making it suitable for high-fault-current environments. Electricians and industrial maintenance technicians install this fuse in compatible CC fuse holders as part of panel, control cabinet, or machinery protection schemes.
The KTK-R-20 is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial control circuits where branch circuit or supplemental overcurrent protection is needed. Typical applications include motor starters, control transformers, and power distribution panels. Its compact cartridge body measures 1.5 inches in overall length and 10.3 mm in diameter, fitting standard CC-class fuse holders. Fast-acting timing ensures rapid interruption under sustained overload or short-circuit conditions, protecting sensitive downstream components.
Designed for use in Class CC fuse holders with a rejection-style mount. The CC form factor is standardized and fits holders designed to accept Class CC cartridge fuses rated up to 30 amps and 600 volts.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements for overcurrent protection devices. Always de-energize and lockout/tagout the circuit before servicing fuse holders. Verify the fuse holder is rated for Class CC fuses and confirm the replacement fuse ampere rating matches the circuit design. Do not install a fast-acting fuse in an application that requires a time-delay fuse without consulting the equipment manufacturer specifications.
