The COOPER BUSSMANN AGX-20 is a glass cartridge fast-acting fuse rated at 20 amps, designed for overcurrent protection in low-voltage control circuits and light electrical applications. With an overall length of 1 inch and a diameter of 0.25 inches, this AGC-style miniature fuse fits standard fuse holders commonly found in HVAC control panels, appliance boards, and light commercial equipment. The fast-acting design responds immediately to overload conditions, protecting sensitive downstream components. It carries an interrupting rating of 1000 amps at 32 volts and 200 amps at 250 and 125 volts, making it suitable for both AC and DC low-voltage circuits.
The AGX-20 is used in residential and light commercial applications where a 1/4-inch by 1-inch cartridge fuse position is required. Typical installations include HVAC control boards, transformer secondary circuits, appliance control assemblies, and instrumentation panels. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and appliance service technicians regularly stock this size fuse for field service and panel repair work. The glass body allows for quick visual inspection to confirm whether the fuse element has opened without the need for a meter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard 0.25-inch by 1-inch glass cartridge fuse positions in HVAC control panels, appliance boards, and light commercial electrical equipment.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified HVAC technician. Always de-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage with a multimeter before replacing the fuse. Confirm that the replacement fuse matches the amperage and interrupting rating specified on the equipment nameplate or wiring diagram. Never install a fuse with a higher amperage rating than specified, as this defeats the overcurrent protection and may create a fire or equipment damage hazard.
