The CONTROL DEVICES RF605T-1 is a mechanical float valve designed for automatic liquid level control in tanks, reservoirs, and water storage systems. Built with a brass body in an angle pattern, single-seat configuration, it uses a buoyant float mechanism to open and close flow without external power. The valve accepts 1-inch female iron pipe (FIP) end connections and is rated for a maximum working pressure of 115 psi. Flow capacity reaches 140 gallons per minute at 50 psi, making it suitable for moderate- to high-volume fill applications. Licensed plumbers and irrigation technicians are the primary installers.
This float valve is used in applications where automatic shutoff is needed as a tank or vessel reaches a set level. Typical installations include agricultural water tanks, commercial cooling tower makeup water systems, livestock watering troughs, and industrial liquid storage. The angle pattern body allows for straightforward inline-to-side-entry piping configurations. Operating temperatures are rated from 33 degrees F to 180 degrees F, covering most non-freeze service conditions in both residential and light commercial settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install float valve for 1-inch FIP threaded piping systems in tank and reservoir level-control applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before threading the valve into place. Use thread sealant tape or pipe dope rated for potable or non-potable water service as appropriate for the application. Note that this valve is not rated for lead-free or NSF 61 potable water compliance — verify suitability for the intended service before installation.
