The CONTINENTAL CONTITECH 20041986 is a Section A classical V-belt designed for power transmission applications in HVAC, industrial, and mechanical drive systems. Built from Wingprene rubber-impregnated fabric, this belt delivers reliable performance across a wide temperature range, from -40 degrees C to 140 degrees C. With an outside length of 63.2 inches and an internal length of 62.30 inches, it fits the A61 belt designation. The belt carries heat-resistant and oil-resistant properties, making it suited for demanding environments where standard belts may degrade prematurely. HVAC technicians, refrigeration mechanics, and millwrights are the primary installers of this type of drive belt.
This V-belt is appropriate for use in residential and light commercial HVAC systems, as well as general industrial machinery where Section A drive belts are specified. It is designed under the HY-T Matchmaker style, which supports matchable set applications when multiple belts are used on the same sheave drive. Compatible with standard Section A sheaves and pulleys across blower assemblies, fans, compressors, and other belt-driven equipment. This belt conforms to DIN 2215 and DIN 7753 standards, ensuring dimensional consistency with other compliant components in the drivetrain.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for Section A V-belt applications requiring a 63.2-inch outside length (A61 belt number), compatible with standard Section A sheaves and pulleys in belt-driven HVAC, fan, and industrial drive systems.
Installation of V-belts should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or mechanic. Always de-energize the equipment and lock out and tag out the power source before removing or installing drive belts. Never force a belt onto a sheave by prying; loosen the motor mount or tensioner to allow proper seating, then adjust to the correct belt tension per the equipment manufacturer specification. Inspect sheave grooves for wear or misalignment before installing the new belt to prevent premature failure.
