The COLLIS TOOL 77822 is a tension and compression tapping chuck designed for precision tapping operations in machine shop and production environments. It features a 1-inch straight shank and accepts taps up to 7/8 inch capacity, with a 4.88-inch projection that positions the tap accurately relative to the spindle face. The quick-change design allows adapters to be swapped without removing the chuck body from the machine, reducing cycle time during multi-tap setups. A Size 2 adapter is specified for this configuration. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians install and operate this chuck on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and tapping machines.

This chuck is suited for both production and job-shop tapping applications where controlled float is required to protect tap life and thread quality.
