The COLLIS TOOL 72227 is a drill driver designed for use with MT2 outside Morse taper spindles. It accepts a 7/64 inch drill and provides a 1/4 inch projection, positioning the cutting tip accurately relative to the taper shank. With a drill depth of 9/16 inch and a decimal inch drill size of 0.1094, this driver suits precision drilling applications where taper-mounted tooling is required. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working with Morse taper-equipped drill presses, lathes, or milling machines.
This drill driver is suited for metalworking and machining environments where MT2 taper spindles are standard. The 7/64 inch drill size makes it appropriate for small-diameter hole operations in production or maintenance settings. The 1/4 inch projection keeps the drill extension compact and stable during operation. Tang compatibility is not supported on this driver, so it relies on the friction fit of the Morse taper for secure seating.
Designed for use with MT2 outside Morse taper spindles on drill presses, lathes, and similar machine tools that accept standard Morse taper tooling.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with Morse taper tooling. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before seating or removing the taper shank. Clean both the taper shank and the spindle bore before insertion to ensure full contact and secure seating. Because this driver has no tang, use a proper Morse taper drift and drift slot to remove it - do not strike the shank directly.
