The COLLIS TOOL 70091 is an NMTB40 quick change master holder designed for use with the Rapid Switch 200 quick change tooling system. It features a 2.56-inch nose diameter and a 2-inch projection, providing a rigid and repeatable interface between the machine spindle and rotating tool holders. This master holder mounts directly to the machine spindle taper and accepts compatible Rapid Switch 200 tool holder shanks, enabling fast tool changes without removing the master from the spindle. It is installed by machinists and tool room technicians on CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with NMTB40 spindles.
The 70091 is suited for production machining environments where reduced tool change time and consistent tool positioning are priorities. It is appropriate for both light and heavy cutting applications on vertical and horizontal milling machines with NMTB40 spindle tapers. The Rapid Switch 200 system it belongs to is a modular quick change platform, allowing a single master holder to support multiple tooling configurations across a variety of operations including drilling, boring, reaming, and milling.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool room technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the master holder. Ensure the spindle taper and holder taper are clean and free of chips or debris before seating. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable ANSI tooling standards for drawbar torque and retention force requirements.
