The COLLIS TOOL 64132 is a Magic Specialty System collet with a 1-11/16 inch bore and a 2MT (Morse Taper Number 2) shank. Collets in the Magic system are precision workholding components designed to grip cutting tools or round stock concentrically within a milling machine, lathe, or drill press spindle. The 2MT taper seats directly into a matching spindle or adapter without a drawbar in many configurations, providing a secure, repeatable hold. Machinists and toolroom technicians specify Magic system collets for their close-tolerance clamping and compatibility with dedicated Magic collet chucks.
This collet is suited for machine shop and toolroom environments where a 2MT taper spindle interface is already in use. Typical applications include holding end mills, drills, reamers, or similarly dimensioned round-shank tooling at a 1-11/16 inch clamping diameter. It is installed by skilled machinists and CNC or manual machine operators in both production and job-shop settings.
Designed for use with Magic Specialty System collet chucks that accept a 2MT taper interface and require a 1-11/16 inch bore collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with Morse taper toolholding systems. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and at a complete stop before seating or removing the collet. The taper mating surfaces should be clean and free of chips, oil, or debris before insertion to ensure proper seating and concentricity. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when mounting or releasing taper-shank toolholding components.
