The COLLIS TOOL 60224 is a standard Morse taper reducing sleeve designed to adapt MT2 tooling to MT4 spindle bores. The sleeve features a hardened and ground construction throughout, ensuring precise concentricity and long service life under repeated use. With a 0.25 inch projection and an overall length of 4.875 inches, this sleeve provides a rigid, accurately fitted interface between the tool and the spindle. It is used by machinists and tool room professionals working with drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and other machine tool equipment that use Morse taper spindles.
This reducing sleeve is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where MT2 tooling must seat reliably in an MT4 receiving taper. Typical applications include adapting drill chucks, end mill holders, or other MT2-shanked tooling into machines with MT4 spindles. The hardened and ground finish supports accurate, repeatable tool changes in both manual and semi-automated setups.
Designed as a standard reducing sleeve for machine tool spindles with an MT4 bore, accepting MT2-shank tooling such as drill chucks, live centers, and other Morse taper accessories.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool room technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before inserting or removing the sleeve. Clean both the spindle bore and the sleeve taper surfaces thoroughly before seating to ensure full contact and prevent fretting. Use a proper drift or knockout bar through the spindle tang slot to remove the sleeve without damaging the taper surfaces.
