The CLIMAX METAL PRODUCTS C193E-137 is a shaft locking device designed to secure rotating shafts and hubs in mechanical power transmission applications. Featuring a 1-3/8 inch bore diameter and a 2-1/8 inch outer diameter, this locking device clamps concentrically onto a shaft to transmit torque and resist axial displacement without requiring keyways or set screws through the shaft itself. The unit uses 10 M5 clamping screws evenly distributed around the collar to develop an axial load capacity of 8,796 pounds and a maximum torque rating of 6,047 foot-pounds. Overall width is 2-1/4 inches with a thrust ring width of 0.669 inches. Mechanical and industrial maintenance technicians install this device in equipment overhaul and assembly work.
This shaft locking device is suited for use in industrial machinery, conveyors, pumps, fans, and similar rotating equipment where a keyless, high-load shaft-to-hub connection is required. The friction-based clamping design allows precise axial positioning along a shaft before final lockdown, making it practical for retrofits and custom shaft arrangements in both OEM builds and field service situations. It is appropriate for light to medium industrial environments where clean, repeatable shaft retention is needed without permanent shaft modification.
Designed as an OEM-style keyless shaft locking device for 1-3/8 inch diameter shafts in industrial power transmission assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanical technician familiar with shaft and hub assembly procedures. De-energize and lock out all power sources to the machine before installing or removing this device. Clean shaft and bore surfaces thoroughly before assembly to ensure full friction engagement. Tighten M5 clamping screws incrementally in a star pattern to achieve uniform clamping force; refer to the manufacturer torque specification sheet for final fastener values.
