The CLEVELAND STEEL TOOL 41316 is a round ironworker die designed for punching 1/2-inch diameter holes in structural steel, plate, and similar ferrous materials. The die seats into compatible ironworker machines and works in conjunction with a matching punch to produce clean, consistent holes without drilling. It features a 1.8125-inch (1-13/16 inch) head diameter and a 1.125-inch (1-1/8 inch) head height. Fabricators, ironworkers, and structural steel trades use this type of tooling for high-volume hole punching on job sites and in fab shops.
This die is suited for use in ironworker machines that accept standard round die tooling. Typical applications include punching bolt holes in angle iron, flat bar, and structural plate during steel fabrication, erection work, and general metalworking operations. The 1/2-inch round profile is one of the most common sizes used for standard structural bolt connections.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling die for ironworker machines that accept round dies with a 1-13/16 inch head diameter.
Installation and tooling changes on ironworker machines must be performed by qualified operators or maintenance personnel with the machine fully de-energized and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the die is fully seated and secured in the die holder before resuming operation. Inspect the die and mating punch for wear, cracking, or chipping prior to each use. Consult the ironworker machine manufacturer's manual for correct die clearance and tooling specifications.
