The CLEVELAND CONTROLS C24275 is a taper pin reamer designed for hole enlarging, finishing, and shaping operations in metalworking and mechanical assembly. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer features 4 spiral flutes with a right-hand cutting direction and left-hand spiral for smooth chip evacuation. It carries a 1 in 48 taper rate matching the standard taper pin geometry for 2/0 pin applications. The small end diameter measures 0.1137 inches and the large end measures 0.1462 inches. Overall length is 2.5625 inches with a flute length of 1.5625 inches and a square shank diameter of 0.1563 inches. Machinists and tool-and-die tradespeople use this reamer in manual or machine-fed applications where precise taper pin holes are required.
This reamer is suited for general-purpose taper pin hole work in cast iron, steel, and steel alloy workpieces. Typical use cases include fitting taper pins in mechanical assemblies, machine components, and structural connections where a precise interference-fit hole is needed. The 2/0 taper size targets smaller-diameter pin locations commonly found in precision shaft collars, linkages, and similar components requiring reliable pin retention.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement and production reamer for 2/0 taper pin holes in cast iron, steel, and steel alloy workpieces following standard taper pin sizing conventions.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists or maintenance technicians using a compatible tap wrench, drill press, or milling machine with a square-drive holder matched to the 0.1563-inch shank. Power down all equipment and secure the workpiece before tool changes. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Do not exceed the recommended feed rate for HSS tooling in hard materials to avoid tool breakage.
