The CLEVELAND C73460 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in metal, aluminum, and similar materials. It is manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish and features a 118-degree split point with web thinning for reduced walking and lower thrust on entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.1160 inches in diameter, matching the wire size 32 nominal diameter of 0.1160 inches. With an overall length of 2.75 inches and a flute length of 1.625 inches, this bit fits standard drill chucks used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working in production and job-shop environments.
The C73460 is suited for drilling aluminum as its primary workpiece material and is rated for general-purpose use across ferrous and non-ferrous stock. The two-flute spiral design with a regular helix and tapered web configuration promotes chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications. It conforms to NAS 907 Type A standards, making it appropriate for aerospace-adjacent and precision manufacturing work where dimensional tolerances and material specifications are controlled. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant applied externally is the standard approach for high-cycle drilling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct procurement option for any application requiring a wire-gauge 32 jobber-length drill bit with a straight-cylindrical shank conforming to NAS 907 Type A standards.
Install in a standard drill chuck or drill press with a properly sized collet for 0.1160-inch shanks. Secure the shank fully seated in the chuck before operation to prevent runout. Power down and lock out any machine tool before changing bits. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid externally when drilling aluminum or steel at production feed rates to manage heat and extend bit life.
