The CLEVELAND C72124 is a jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge number 24, equivalent to 0.1520 inches in diameter. Manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit is built for general-purpose drilling applications where consistent tolerances and clean hole geometry are required. The standard 118-degree split-web-thinned point reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust force during penetration. At 3.125 inches overall length with a 2-inch spiral flute, it fits standard drill chucks without adapters and clears chips efficiently through its two-flute regular spiral configuration.
This bit is suited for use in metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and light industrial settings where wire-gauge-sized holes are drilled in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and similar materials. Its straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in keyless or keyed drill chucks. The Series 2002G designation places it within a general-purpose jobber-length product family commonly stocked by trades requiring precision wire-gauge drilling, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical shops for conduit and sheet metal work.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for use in any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.1520-inch straight-cylindrical shank, including handheld and bench-mounted drill presses used in general trade and industrial applications.
Installation is performed by machinists, fabricators, and trade professionals using standard keyless or keyed drill chucks. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling ferrous metals to extend bit life and maintain hole tolerance. Inspect the cutting edges and web before each use — a worn or chipped point should be reground or replaced before use to avoid oversized or out-of-round holes.
