The CLEVELAND C71213 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal, plastic, and similar materials. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with an oxide coating, it delivers adequate wear resistance for production and maintenance drilling tasks. The bit measures 1.65 mm (0.0650 inches) in diameter with a 118-degree standard point angle and a regular-spiral, two-flute geometry. Overall length is 1.693 inches. Web thinning at the tip reduces thrust requirements and helps the point self-center at the start of a cut. This is a standard straight-cylindrical shank bit installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabrication professionals.
The C71213 is suited for general-purpose drilling applications in job shop, maintenance, and light production environments. The 1.65 mm diameter targets small-hole work such as pilot holes, tap preparation for fine-thread fasteners, and precision through-holes in thin-gauge materials. The jobber-length format provides the balance of flute length and rigidity expected in everyday bench and drill-press use. The Series 2001G line conforms to ASME B94.11M and DIN 338 standards, making it a recognized option where specification compliance is required.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or standard supply item for any drill press, CNC machining center, or hand drill equipped with a chuck capable of holding a 0.0650-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Fits Series 2001G application requirements per DIN 338 and ASME B94.11M.
Install and remove only with the machine powered down and the spindle at a full stop. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in the chuck, then tighten with a chuck key before drilling. For small-diameter bits like this, use appropriate spindle speeds per published HSS cutting-speed charts to avoid bit breakage. Inspect the cutting edges and web before each use; a worn or chipped tip should be resharpened or replaced before continuing work.
