The CLEVELAND C70080 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for heavy-duty metal drilling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a gold oxide coating, it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in demanding production environments. The 3.3 mm diameter bit features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and requires no center punch on most materials. With a right-hand spiral flute and web-thinned, tapered web construction, it evacuates chips efficiently and reduces thrust. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople rely on this bit for consistent, accurate hole sizing across a range of materials.
The C70080 is suited for drilling aluminum and similar non-ferrous and ferrous materials in light manufacturing, maintenance, and fabrication settings. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks, making it compatible with bench-top drill presses, hand drills, and CNC setups. Its jobber length profile — 2.56 inches overall — provides a balanced reach-to-rigidity ratio appropriate for general-purpose production drilling. The Series 2213 designation and NAS 907 Type J specification make it a recognized standard in aerospace and industrial procurement.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or production-stock drill bit for use with standard drill chucks accepting a 0.1299-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material rating is aluminum; also applicable to compatible non-ferrous and ferrous materials as dictated by job requirements.
Install in a properly sized drill chuck and verify shank is fully seated and tightened before operation. Power down or de-energize the drill press or hand tool before changing bits. Follow applicable shop safety standards and wear appropriate eye protection during drilling operations. Avoid running cobalt bits without adequate chip clearance, as chip packing accelerates wear and can cause bit breakage.
