The CLEVELAND C70076 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for heavy-duty drilling in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a gold oxide coating, this bit delivers extended tool life in abrasive and work-hardening materials. It measures 2.9 mm (0.1142 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 2.4 inches and a flute length of 1.299 inches. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and lowers thrust requirements. Two spiral flutes clear chips efficiently. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contractors reach for this drill when installing equipment, running conduit, or punching holes in sheet metal and structural members.
This bit is suited for drilling aluminum, light ferrous metals, and similar materials encountered in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-in work. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw keyless and keyed chucks on cordless and corded drill drivers, drill presses, and right-angle drills. The regular spiral and tapered web configuration make it a practical choice for production drilling and repetitive hole-making on job sites and in shop environments. It conforms to NAS 907 Type J standards, making it appropriate for precision and aerospace-adjacent trade work.
Designed for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 0.1142-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling aluminum and similar non-ferrous and light ferrous workpiece materials. Fits drills and drill presses with chucks sized for the 2.00 to 3.00 mm bit diameter range.
This bit is installed and replaced by any trade professional using a hand drill, drill press, or right-angle drill. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck before operation and verify the bit is centered to avoid run-out. Wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece before drilling. Follow applicable safety standards and tool-manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed rates when drilling metal.
