The CLEVELAND C46152 is a single-end countersink designed to create clean, conical seating recesses in carbon steel and cast iron workpieces. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with an oxide coating, it delivers reliable cutting performance in production and maintenance machining applications. The tool features a 1/4 inch head diameter, a 90 degree included angle (45 degree centerline angle), and a 3-flute configuration that promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduced chatter during operation. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3/16 inch in diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this countersink in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand drill applications.
This countersink is suited for right-hand cutting operations on carbon steel and cast iron in both shop and field settings. The 90 degree included angle is the most common specification for fastener seating, accommodating standard flat-head machine screws and bolts in residential, commercial, and industrial fabrication contexts. The oxide finish provides a degree of lubricity and corrosion resistance for general workshop conditions. Its compact 1/4 inch head diameter makes it appropriate for smaller-diameter fastener recesses where precision seating is required.
Designed for countersinking operations in carbon steel and cast iron materials. Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or qualified shop personnel using a drill press, CNC machine, or hand drill with an appropriate chuck. Secure the workpiece firmly before operation and set spindle speed according to material and tool diameter guidelines. No pilot is included with this countersink, so a pilot hole should be drilled to the correct diameter before countersinking. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use and replace the tool if chipping or dulling is observed.
