The CLEVELAND C46137 is a single-flute, high-speed steel countersink designed for precision chamfering and seat preparation in metalworking applications. With a 1.25-inch head diameter and an 82-degree included angle, this tool produces consistent, accurate countersinks for flat-head fastener seating in carbon steel and cast iron workpieces. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.5 inches in diameter, providing a secure grip in standard drill chucks and machine spindles. An oxide coating offers basic surface protection and reduces friction during cutting. Right-hand cutting geometry suits standard CNC machines, drill presses, and hand drills running conventional rotation.
This countersink is suited for job shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication environments where controlled chamfering of ferrous materials is required. Typical applications include countersinking pilot holes in carbon steel plate, cast iron housings, and similar workpieces ahead of flat-head fastener installation. The single-flute design minimizes chatter at moderate spindle speeds, making it a practical choice for both manual drill press work and light CNC operations where a clean, accurate seat is required without a pilot guide.
Designed for countersinking operations in carbon steel and cast iron workpieces. Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank. No pilot included.
Install and remove this tool with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at rest. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck or collet to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or cutting oil when machining ferrous materials to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or damage before each use and remove from service if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
